At OSCON 2014, Gluu to launch free “Gluu Server Community Edition” and “Gluu Server SAML Edition” for Ubuntu, Debian, Centos, and Redhat

The Gluu Server Community Edition will make it free and easy for Internet domains to centralize OAuth2 based authentication and authorization using the OpenID Connect and User Managed Access (UMA) protocols.

Austin, TX (June 26, 2014) — Gluu announced today that it will introduce both a free and lower priced version of the Gluu Server to developers at O’Reilly OSCON 2014 in Portland, Oregon. The two new products, the “Gluu Server Community Edition” and “Gluu Server SAML Edition”, will enable organizations to more quickly deploy a version of Gluu’s open source stack for single sign-on, web and API access management, strong authentication and federation.

The Gluu Server Community Edition will include OAuth2 authentication and authorization API’s using the OpenID Connect and UMA profiles respectively. It also includes an easy to use Web-based administration console to enable system administrators to manage what information is being released to third parties. An annual subscription to the Gluu Server SAML Edition will be offered at $200, and will include a configured Shibboleth IDP component.

“We need every domain on the Internet to implement better security,” said Gluu CEO Mike Schwartz. “Without free open source software, that is not possible. The Gluu Server Community stack is the minimal services an organization needs to leapfrog the failed-protocol baggage of the last decade, and move to the best possible application security architecture for the future. We are also hoping that the Gluu Server SAML Edition will be very useful for many organizations who need a solution for both new applications that would prefer the OAuth2 authentication API, and older applications who might already support SAML.”
