UMA and OpenID Connect Apache Plugin Supporters,
Thank you for your commitment to this UMA and OpenID Connect Crowdtilt Crowdfunding Campaign! While I am disappointed we were not able to Tilt, it has been a great campaign for promoting open source access management. I am encouraged to know there are other people all around the world who are passionate about making the Internet a safer place, and who know that open source access management is critical to make this happen.
We might have lost the battle for dollars, but I think we won the battle for ideas. Around 3,000 people clicked on links about the campaign, which is a lot in our ecosystem.
It has also provided some interesting data on how to perhaps execute a campaign in the future. We raised $0 from companies.* In the future we need to figure out how to make it more feasible for companies to participate.
While we were not able to find enough support to tilt, we have the option to re-open the campaign for three days within the next ten days. I will only do this if I line up a company or companies to help fund the effort.
Once again, I really appreciate the support. You and the individual contributors did more than your part. Here at Gluu we are going to do everything possible to figure out how to push this project forward.
* After this email was sent, Falcon System Consulting of Japan agreed to contribute $2500. That means we have currently raised $5000/$7500, so we just need one more company to help support open source OAuth2 plugins for Apache. For more information on Falcon, see Gluu’s press release announcing our exclusive distribution agreement for Japan and South Korea: http://www.gluu.co/falcon-japan-reseller
