Support EOL for Gluu 2.4.4

William Lowe June 7, 2018

The official support end-of-life date for Gluu Server 2.4.4 is December 31, 2018. Starting January 1, 2019, no further security updates or bug-fixes will be provided for Gluu Server 2.X.

While upgrading to Gluu Server 3.x is not required, it is strongly recommended. See below for more information about the benefits and requirements for upgrading your Gluu Server.

Benefits of upgrading

The latest version of the Gluu Server offers many benefits and enhancements, including:

  • Improved security
  • Easier social login and inbound identity via Passport.js
  • More SCIM server features and a new SCIM client
  • Better interception script debugging
  • Interoperability with new complementary IAM apps, like Credential Manager
  • And more!

Upgrading to Gluu Server 3.1.3

Documentation and scripts are available on the Gluu 3.1.3 upgrade docs. To minimize the possibility of downtime or disruptions in service, we suggest cloning your current VM and performing the upgrade in the cloned VM. We also recommend applying tweaks to your network setup (like adding your new IP address and hostname to your /etc/hosts file) to thoroughly test the upgraded server before making the cutover.

When you are satisfied with your cloned and upgraded Gluu Server, you and/or your network team can simply update the DNS entry to make the new VM live.
