oxd pricing update

Michael Schwartz September 5, 2018

A couple months ago we decided to adjust how we price and bill for oxd, our OAuth 2.0 client software. Originally oxd was being billed per server per day.

We’ve been monitoring data to better understand how the new billing model we enacted is working. Our net assessment is billing per application (“OAuth2 client”) is not a good indicator of usage or value.

Our goal is to find a stable and scalable business model. Until then we are making oxd completely free.

We are continuing to invest in the product (we use it ourselves!) and have cool new features slated for upcoming oxd releases 3.1.4 and 4.0. Free beta pricing will simply help us gather more data to make a more informed business decision.

If you have ideas we would love to hear them–we’re a community driven organization and value your feedback!

We will continue to update you on progress. In the meantime, we hope oxd remains a useful tool in your cyber security toolbelt.
